Argomenti del programma: The course will follow the structure outlined below. Each week, students will be introduced to a major global legal challenge, through a combination of theoretical framing and practical applications. After the lecturer’s introduction, students will engage in simulations and further analysis of the issues discussed, often in collaboration with legal practitioners and experts.

Argomenti del programma: The course is divided into two interconnected parts. Part I - International Human Rights Law examines the historical development and theoretical foundations of human rights, international legal sources, jurisdiction and extraterritoriality, universal and regional protection mechanisms, selected fundamental rights, and State obligations and responsibility.

• No single reference textbook is recommended, and readings will be drawn from a diverse range of legal and non-legal sources. Students are expected to study the materials uploaded on the LUISS Learn page.

Argomenti del programma: The course will be structured around different weekly topics. Guest lecturers with practical experience in dealing with the problem of migration by sea will be invited to provide their perspectives.
